    I thought herdr was pretty nice, but I LOVE zellij, and really missed some of its features when using herdr, but then I found zj-radar. It’s extremely similar to herdr, but it’s just a zellij plugin. I set up the alias “zerdr” which launches zellij straight into the radar profile. I honestly haven’t launched herdr once, since I got it installed. Highly recommend! Great ep, btw! ❤️

    +1 for Vikunja! I just set this up a few weeks ago, including an MCP server, and hooked up my “personal assistant” agent to it. It can display the same data as todo lists, kanban, Gantt charts, etc. I really like it! If you guys try it, I’d love to hear how you end up using it.

    +1 for wizarr! It also works for audiobookshelf. ( Brent actually already used mine to create an account on my audiobooks server when I recommended ADHD is awesome.) Super handy for when you want to invite people to all your platforms at once with a single invite code. (Also does Romm if you have rom collections for emulation)

    I had intended to do more boosts throughout the year this year but... Using fountain and the member feed is STILL not as seamless as it should be. Been loving the content throughout the year, especially the reverso episode and AI coverage, even if I'm not vocal about it <3 Also dumping fountain entirely now that the latest update breaks android auto, randomly starts playing audio hours later with the app closed, and then won't play when I want it to.

Nives - the HA addon that connects an LLM of your choice with Assist, has local memory so it remembers things between diff conversations, can reason and can even create automations for you by just speaking.     As a college educator I arrived at an AI course policy. I am prohibiting use for quizzes and exams, and students are not allowed to generate responses to homework prompts. I am allowing use for help with finding sources, or help with describing a concept introduced in class. For homework and presentations I ask for a brief citation of model and prompt. I am curious to see how this will work.     Have you guys tried pi coding agent? I’m running it with a llama.cpp with unsloth qwen3.8_q4_k_xl with mtp and no vision mmproj for extra speed. Feels almost frontier like. I ditched Hermes and opencode as they felt too bloated for local models.

    PSA: Avoid HP 840 G9 12th gen Intel for Linux. I couldn't get any sort of low power state to work. Sleep battery drain was >10% per hour on Linux. On Windows it was <1%. I tried NixOS, popOS and Fedora. I put maybe 8 hours of troubleshooting in ~2 months ago but nothing made it better.

I've been looking for one to integrate into Homeassistent, since I'm just not getting around to building the Awtrix kit I have had for years. Also on 1.6 speed FORScan sounded a lot like Foreskin which had me quite confused for the segment, had to look at the show notes 😜

    Guys... You just blew my mind with Nostr. I played around with it back when you first started talking about it, but I don't think I ever really understood what it actually was. I just thought it was activitypub with keys... But I was missing the point. Dunno if I'll use buzz long-term, but I'm setting it up now! And if nothing else this was my eye opening catalyst to connect all the dots. Thank you!

    π for your efforts, thanks for all you do. Been trying out Hermes with openrouter using Nemotron super. Trying to find cost effective models that are good for network management (OpenWRT), playing with nix config (with NixOS mcp), troubleshooting on Arch or Ubuntu occasionally, writing some basic python and bash scripts to automate tasks, and occasional small coding projects. I've been using Claude code for most of this but want to move away from that. Any model suggestions? Prefer open source, open weight if possible and eventual goal to host my own LLM when I can find (afford) a 5090 (or two).

    Thank you for covering all the kernel stuff. I know it's a lot of work, but I love hearing it. That AMD regression in 7.2 would affect me since that's what my desktop runs, so I'll keep an ear open for the fix
