    Longtime listner (circa 2018), first time booster, You asked about PXE booted servers. For 3 years now I'm running my NAS diskless. Which sounds strange NASes need disks. This is what I mean, there is no disk or partition used for an OS. It is based on Alpine Linux (NetBoot). The state is stored in a tar file, which is generated by the command `lbu`. This tar file is stored on a webserver. During boot it does: fetching pxe related boot configuration, fetching kernel via tftp, booting kernel, during kernel boot it fetches the mod-loop via http (kernel modules) and finally fetches the tar file with server configuration. Then it downloads the required packages and starts everything. This also means that the NAS is stateless. If it doesn't respond as expected, reboot and it is back in a working state. PS, the upgrades are automated via ansible playbooks.

    You mentioned the idea of having an agent read the show RSS feed for summaries and stuff, but with the size of the RSS data, that would be a lot of tokens to process, so I'd recommend using MCP tools to process and search the data first. Here's an MCP server that I wrote to handle retrieving episode and transcript data from Podcasting 2.0 compatible RSS feeds.     For Presence Detection; I use 24GHz motion sensors. Hooked a small USB adapter in with the light fixtures. This way I can track movement per room (area) and even detect if it's a person or a pet moving. 24GHz can detect a single finger moving. Low tech could be swiping your NFC tag.     Regarding phone disasters, I have lost not one but two phones to the ocean. Forgot they were in my pocket at the beach both times. At least the 2nd one wasn't my main phone as I started taking an old phone on vacation after the first incident. Not that I plan on testing it, but my current pixel 9 supposedly can withstand some water at least.

    I think I was also hit by that btrfs bug. I hard powered off my steam deck running bazzite and it wouldn't boot or even mount afterward. Fortunately, standard btrfs filesystem fixes brought it back. Don't think this will change my use of btrfs but it was definitely a shock.

    So, my first computer was a Z80 processor based kit that I hand soldered. It had 2KB of RAM, 6 x 7 segment LED displays and a hex input keypad for programming. Its usability was err ‘limited’ - but the educational aspect was amazing.

    Hey Chris, i have a miiforums um790 with a similar GFx card to your beelinkthat alsof hard locked with Nixos. Solved it by installing LACT and going to the OC tab and change performance level to lowest clocks. Not ideal for gaming, but the um790 didn't lock up since. The previous owner never had problems in Windows.
