What is Effective Philosophy? Juan and I simplify hard to grasp concepts into pragmatic takeaways that can be applied to every day life (fitness, goal setting, work, parenting, travel, hobbies, finances, etc.,).

This conversation has me thinking about the economics in Star Trek. In the future they have these machines called replicators, they create any and all material items. Money becomes obsolete. “Ownership” and “private property” fade away, what stays consistent is the idea of personal property. From that perspective think of a deck of Pokémon cards, what is more important, that you own those cards or those cards are personally yours?

A note on boosting: I am boosting less because the market is not there (yet?). I would rather hold my bitcoin then send it to people who majority only care about Bitcoin. Fountain made a smart move being identifiably the “Bitcoin podcasting app” it’s an on ramp in theory but only bitcoiners use it. In a crude way boosting is equivalent to Chuck-E-Cheese tokens. I’ve grown bearish on Bitcoin as a currency. Walk me off the ledge here.

Kyrin, the next time a girl flakes on you, message her and say “you’re a flake, noted” and let her sit in her shit.
-
I'm happily married and this last episode still really helped me work through some things. https://fountain.fm/show/j1bfwVHlTy5lVlPPiRRX @nevent1qvzqqqp…

Imagine being so dull and mindless you need a computer to tell you how to live life. Do not use AI for any sort of higher wisdom. Definition of vapor-ware
-
I’m getting leaner along with kyrin. I’m experimenting with Hot Yoga too, my first session is on Monday, we will see how it goes and how I feel.
-
I’m ready for Kyrin’s TRT phase as he deadlifts more
-
Sounds like Kyrin will be making an annual Florence trip
-
We need the mere mortals to return. My philosophy has not been effective in ages!!
-
I also don’t care about robots until I get my own R2-D2 that follows me on my Jedi adventures.

The real question to ask about AI is “is it making you and your company more money?” These models are compressing data at such an incredible rate, Juan can evaluate real estate soil quicker, but until one of us makes F U money directly due to AI, all predictions are fuzzy imo.
-
Coincidentally, I also went down the meme stock rabbit hole recently, I watched the James Jani doc, I watched a.bunch of Marantz and Richard Newton on YT, etc. I was shocked to find that I came away thinking Marantz actually has a good point, I wouldn't dismiss him so easily. AMC, BBBY and GME are not the same and I think Ryan Cohen is genuinely trying to turn around GME, he got out of BBBY when he saw it was a lost cause. The story of private equity bankruptcies is truly fascinating. This whole GME saga transformed into a rich vs poor battle which is still ongoing. Will the common man ever see justice? Who knows. Do hedge funds break the rules and get away with it ? No doubt they do. Good discussion.

Losing 69% of my investment in AMC taught me a lot. Maybe I should start a podcast.

Bubbles are ment to be blown bigger

When the hosky maker said okay to listing his tokens on an exchange and provided the exchange with additional hoskies it also graduated to full fledge scam, please correct me if I misremembered that interview.

Sorry I haven’t boosted in boys. I’ve caught your episodes on YouTube more recently and have forgotten to send value. Love the AI talk. I am diving back Into using the creative tools, midjourney, runway and eleven labs. These are all closed models, I dont care for using an open source one because I want the best quality right now. The open sourced tools will make their stake in the coming years like how the open sourced animation software “Blender” has. Slow and steady.

Thanks for all the stimulating yet easy going conversations in 2024 and best wishes and successes for the year to come. ✌️

When you tell strangers you're retired they will assume you have some sort of inherentance coming your way and don't need to work for money. Little do they know that you just don't see a need for collecting money!

Personally I can’t stand fountain since the NOSTR switch. Lost all following and half the accounts I managed to rediscover I can’t boost. Bummer

Lex Friedman sucks. He blocked me on Twitter and now hearing his “deep work” bullshit makes me so happy I’m barred from seeing his life advise for a productive lonely life. Your focus in life should be to love your family, yourself and be healthy. You two are on it.
-
I might have become the out of touch old guy in the room but I still remain wildly unenthusiastic about the world changing aspects of AI in the next few years. As far as I can see, AI amounts to clever google searches and unoriginal media creation on apps which mainly appeal to highschool kids (insta, tiktok, etc) Furthermore, if AI can make your job obsolete then I wager your job was largely unnecessary to begin with and you probably should have been fired years ago.

I'm not exactly sure why but I like listening to these. New tagline, Small conversations on everyday topics.

Two points: 1. Joe Dispenza is interesting because of the biological information he shares that is connected to your life experience. There’s an old phrase I grew up with that is connected to this; be aware of your thoughts they become words, be aware of your words they become actions, be aware of your actions they become habit. You train your biology when you think a certain way all the time. 2. It’s very interesting that every medicinal study takes into account the placebo effect. I tend to think that means the mind is more powerful than people give it credit. There’s untapped power in everyone.

Sorry! 😬 well at least you got one home.
