Regarding phone disasters, I have lost not one but two phones to the ocean. Forgot they were in my pocket at the beach both times. At least the 2nd one wasn't my main phone as I started taking an old phone on vacation after the first incident. Not that I plan on testing it, but my current pixel 9 supposedly can withstand some water at least.

I think I was also hit by that btrfs bug. I hard powered off my steam deck running bazzite and it wouldn't boot or even mount afterward. Fortunately, standard btrfs filesystem fixes brought it back. Don't think this will change my use of btrfs but it was definitely a shock.
