There is a big difference if you signal shitcoins are welcome or you focus on money and discourage non-monetary use cases. There are plenty of shitcoins they can play on. Nodes and users are important otherwise it deceases to be Bitcoin and becomes captured and centralized.

Super Argument Dennis. Tom blendet Kernproblematik aufgrund von Indizien-DoS ab und kommt zu falschen Rückschlüssen. Ganz ohne technisches Verständnis kann man halt leider keine Rückschlüsse auf Validität der Indizien und Schutz vor Zentralisierung ziehen, sorry Tom.

Genau andersrum, Ver und Co waren die großen Player (Exchanges, Miner, ..) die ihre Geschäftsmodelle schützen wollten und via Blockgröße einfachste Lösung durchdrücken wollten (Zentralisierung). Mining Pools würden mit Bigblocks noch mehr zentralisiert sein weil schwerer Nodes zu betreiben. Pools ist ein Problem, Lösung Stratum v2, Ocean/Datum um Blocktemplates zu dezentralisieren. Ver/Bigblocks hätte nichts daran geändert bzw. verschlimmert. Blocksizewar als neutralere Quelle lesen.

I’m heartbroken too and have survivor guilt. I’ve been in this space for just under two years and by a stroke of luck, I chose a different hardware brand. It could have been me and as thankful as I am that it wasn’t, I almost wish it was. FUCK THEIVES!!! I’m still bullish as hell and am going to beef up my security. I have to admit that I often forget to zap because I listen to podcast during my hour and a half long commute and then I forget by the time I get to a stopping point. Although much of this is over my head I’m trying to learn as much as I can and this one definitely inspired me to really take action on starting up a meet up in my area. Thanks!

Yesterday I had a hack attempt Where someone called saying they were with one of my bitcoin wallets and that there was some suspicious activity they needed to clarify. Over the weekend That same Wallet sent a notification asking if I was trying to change my phone number or something and I said no. So, it seemed kind of legit… they were very educated and they talked for a while and told me where the login attempt was, in another country, and that they were using a different email address which was actually a former employer address of mine. They gave me a ticket number and asked me to type it in with the Wallet domain name afterwards and it took me to a site that looked like that wallet’s site. It asked me about 3 yes / no questions about the login attempt and then it asked me for a 12 words seed phrase to detach my wallet just in case something happens… I kind of already figured something was up but that was when I ended the call and then they called back telling me that if I don’t unhook that wallet they would not be liable for any loss. So I hung up again and of course sent an email to the helpdesk for that Wallet and verified that it was in fact a hack attempt. They are getting better and better, so be wary! Thanks for everything you do to educate everyone! 🙏🙏🙏

Great rip! I listened to this little late since I was traveling and I’m trying to catch up. Not just on podcasts, but all the technology you’re talking about here and on RHR, etc. I am only about 15 months into this whole Bitcoin/freedom tech rabbit hole and it is a bit overwhelming for an GenXr who’s busy learning how to get out of the fiat world while working a full time fiat job. In regard to the friction you feel when checking out and not wanting to have a conversation with the barista, I got you… I’m trying to orange pill everyone I can so I actually ask every single cashier if they take bitcoin just to plant the seed and every now and then a conversation is spawned.

This came at the perfect time since I’ll be in Buenous Aires next week for a few days! I look forward to visiting there for my first time and to see how the blue (land orange) markets work.

Great interview! I heard another one with Keonne the other day and I’m glad that you asked a bunch of different questions that helps understand some of the nuances. In my mind, this case against him ridiculous and unjust. I’m gonna sign the petition and forward it to other others. Your book came in the mail the other day but I had to finish Alex Gladstein‘s “Check your financial privilege” first. (That was an amazing book!) I’m a couple chapters into yours and I’m enjoying it while learning even more about bitcoin. My father was Polish and left in 1940 on foot so it’s interesting to hear your family’s story That took place decades later. Thanks for everything you’re doing! I’m so hopeful for the future 😌

BTCPay und Wasabi Wallet nutzen nbxplorer und der hatte ein problem mit dem blockheader des besagten blocks, daher beide projekte betroffen.

Puh, wenig Insights in die Problematik. Die op_return filter datacarrier und datacarriersize sollen auch entfernt werden, also nicht mehr konfigurierbar. op_return kostet 4x fees daher wird weiter über witness gespamt werden, und noch paar andere Punkte die das Ganze kontrovers machen.
