Hi Chris, Thanks for the show and your unerring reliability. A 5 year bear market for me would mean a change in time preference. My basic strategy doesn’t change, only how long it takes to enact and which generation benefits more. It is a fascinating question in general though, i.e. how long to HODL and when to spend. Just how long do you want to defer your gratification for? At the end of the day it seems to be a balance between your own personal financial situation ( and survival now) vs btc price vs when you bought in and how much. Great to see a small, but growing, group meet-up in my neighbourhood calling themselves the ‘Freedom Cafe’, promoting Open Source Software and privacy tech, (mostly Linux) … I see an ‘in’ for Orange Pilling! : )

What an amazing episode! Thank you, guys, for your honesty, wisdom, and rants!There was so much food for thought in that episode! I will definitely listen to it again!

Super Argument Dennis. Tom blendet Kernproblematik aufgrund von Indizien-DoS ab und kommt zu falschen Rückschlüssen. Ganz ohne technisches Verständnis kann man halt leider keine Rückschlüsse auf Validität der Indizien und Schutz vor Zentralisierung ziehen, sorry Tom.

Genau andersrum, Ver und Co waren die großen Player (Exchanges, Miner, ..) die ihre Geschäftsmodelle schützen wollten und via Blockgröße einfachste Lösung durchdrücken wollten (Zentralisierung). Mining Pools würden mit Bigblocks noch mehr zentralisiert sein weil schwerer Nodes zu betreiben. Pools ist ein Problem, Lösung Stratum v2, Ocean/Datum um Blocktemplates zu dezentralisieren. Ver/Bigblocks hätte nichts daran geändert bzw. verschlimmert. Blocksizewar als neutralere Quelle lesen.

Bitcoin is a monetary network and we can't give an inch to make it become a garbage storage. It would make Bitcoin indistinguishable from any random shitcoin.

BTCPay und Wasabi Wallet nutzen nbxplorer und der hatte ein problem mit dem blockheader des besagten blocks, daher beide projekte betroffen.

Puh, wenig Insights in die Problematik. Die op_return filter datacarrier und datacarriersize sollen auch entfernt werden, also nicht mehr konfigurierbar. op_return kostet 4x fees daher wird weiter über witness gespamt werden, und noch paar andere Punkte die das Ganze kontrovers machen.

Hey Chris, thanks for your consistency over time with the show, even hearing your theme music calms my nerves and lifts my spirits each week. I totally understand you need to shake things up a bit, and give yourself a boost! I’ve noticed you getting more and more upset over the bip110 situation as the weeks go by, and not your usual calm self. Change is as good as a rest. Really looking forward to going to Cheatcode Bedford next week and seeing Lyn Alden (et al) do their thing. Also I just discovered the Women of Bitcoin UK group, and logged into Women of Bitcoin online conference in early March, it was excellent! Have to say I am over the moon to see this finally happening, here’s to more women in the space. I switched jobs last year and am working from home, used AI extensively to help me with my new tech. set up, integrating CRM to my email etc. invaluable. It’s incredibly useful in my work, helping me to navigate the legal and governmental mazes.. but is only useful if you ( the human) ask it the RIGHT questions. Whatever new format you decide on next Chris, I know it will be good. : )

Hey Chris, great content, great format, your show checks all the boxes for me.. I’d definitely miss it hugely if you stopped. On the other hand I’m a big believer in leaving the party while you’re still having a good time, as a rule for life in fact. You’re such an energetic and innovative guy, it’s clear to me that if you pause the show, something else will soon emerge into that space that best fits your current life. Happy 100th episode Chris! Massive achievement. Ps I side with Lyn’s much more pragmatic approach. So many variables and no one simple answer, just a slow shift.
