Concerning knives. Once they find out you're the knife guy, they will always seek you out. I typically carry 3 for various situations, smaller one for opening stuff or cutting small stuff, larger folder or fixed blade for heavy tasks and of course a Swiss Army or Leatherman AR-15 and open sights, everyone should learn how to shoot with peep sights. I'm also near sighted, we had to Qual in the rain one time, couldn't see squat through my glasses, took them off and dropped every target within 200 meters, I could barely see the 250 and the 300 was out of the question... BTW, you can put peeps on a 1022 for low budget open sight practice
