Hey GeneBean! I was wondering when I’d hear the BitBox mentioned. I chose this device for a few key reasons, the big ones were a sleek look for the spousal approval factor, no Bluetooth, and some way to know I can trust the software. It is open source and lets you verify the reproducibility of the firmware and associated (optional) mobile app. Supports multisig and you can interface with a Sparrow wallet if you don’t want to use the app. My only hesitation was that it’s USB, but a thorough read of the security & threat model gave me the assurances I needed. Great writeup on proxying bitcoin through a VPS btw! This is one of the last pieces in the puzzle for me to go live with a hardware wallet.

As for why truckers have migrated to GMRS, the stated reason is better audio quality being FM rather than CB's AM, antennas generally come pre-tuned, and slightly better range.
The unstated reason, since the late 70's four wheelers were getting on the CB and messing things up for the drivers. So they switched to get away from them and the reasons stated above. Besides a license is just $35 and there's no test.

1k Early in my career as a young chef I was introduced to mushroom foraging, which I still practice and hope to pass down to my children. Once I learned how to find them it unlocked my mind to how everything is connected.
My hobby is farming a small vineyard and making wine from it every year. Promoting soil health has been a game changer over the years, I’m not only practicing viticulture but also becoming a mycelium and dirt farmer.
This was a joy to here and thanks for making more connections with this subject to bitcoin, absolutely brilliant. Here is some value for value! Hopefully one day the world will understand how much mycelium can help and heal our planet. Connection is protection!

The first computer that was actually mine was a custom built machine centered around an A10-7890K because I was too poor for a dedicated video card at the time. This was during high school so what money I did get from the job I had was saved up and I later bought a 1050ti.

4k Bret, if you plan on doing any traveling with the van, and why have it if you're not, then I'd suggest a GMRS radio. Most truckers have switched from CB to GMRS and while you need a license to transmit, you can listen without a license. Also you have to build in a meshtastic node because.... reasons.
