After several years of continuing to reduce my participation in the fiat system, those who have stuck with me have given up on trying to drag me back into the system. They still don't really understand what the ideals I'm striving for though.

Extraction creates disconnection, unification is love, consensus governance is unification, Bitcoin is loving. To stop participating in extraction and to more deeply participate in unification, is how Bitcoin fixes this.

Ironically, I'll be working on the Bitcoin mining air-conditioning unit again over the winter. Winter is when the building and tinkering happens here at the homestead. Spring, summer and fall are for dancing in harmony with all the natural systems, catching and storing the energy and obtaining their yeilds.

Hopeful on local models. One must learn to cook using the toolbox of local models vs use the fast food version (Anthropic). Currently a hybrid approach seems to work pretty well. Doing some prompt engineering through a model like Grok on what you want to do and how to tell an agent running on local models to do that job. I built a functional Nostr client as a chrome extension using Qwen 3.6 27B after prompt engineering with a cloud model.

Quantum computers don't exist

As a larp with chauffeur knowledge.. trying to become less and less so I must say this podcast episode definetly puts some noise in the signal of quantum computing this and quantum computing that in cryptography privacy and bitcoin discusssions. I think what you guys provide is a good starting point with someone who did some calc and stats and algebra in college but doesn’t want to bite the bullet for going back for a whole degree in it.

Nice conversation! I swear one of my biggest fears is someone breaking into my house when I'm passed out and catching me off guard. How can we film an MTV Cribs type show with Bitcoiner houses without doxxing locations or faces?!?! Can Home Assistant help with that?! I also used to have all these automated lights and quickly realized I didn’t want to deal with it or have it phoning home. For lights automation I’d much easier to install an analog option (motion sensor switch) on the wall to replace the manual switch. Like a bathroom occupancy switch which will turn on the lights for 30 minutes when you walk in... So unless you take a really long shit then the light and fan will turn off after you finish your business and leave. If you get stuck watching videos or doomscrolling then just a simple wave of the hand will turn it back on! I had this happen to me once in college where I was in a stall and the light turned off in the bathroom while I was in there and the sensor couldn’t see me... didn’t turn back on until the next person walked in and was surprised I was shitting in the dark. Or in my shed when I can’t get my fucking miners to work and I’m staring at the computer then the lights turn off so I typically use that as an indicator that I need another beer and walk over to trigger the lights again. (Sorry for the long boost on your hour-long show... I sent extra sats...)

Leveling up the automation of the systems at the homestead is on the long list of winter projects. It does seem like a tipping point has been reached where remote control and automation is now simple and affordable enough while still being possible to do while maintaining privacy that it's well worth making the effort to integrate.
