What in your opinion would be a valuable next technological step for a “sat-stacking pleb newbie ” …invest in a solo miner or node up (or something else entirely)? What’s the next baby step that benefits a newb AND the network? Regarding hardware wallets, I gifted tangem wallets for Christmas.

People often confuse strategy and tactics. In chess, strategy is over the course of the game, while tactics are temporal, clever moments. Like in chess, like in poker, like in life - if you only ever play with a static technique, you are mistaking tactics for strategy. A supposed reliance on an issuance schedule admist an ever-changing macro economic environment? I think the 4 year cycle was a blip. A clever technique to use in Bitcoin's adolescence, but not something you should expect to be constant as it grows in adoption. It's myopic to view the halving cycle as the holy grail of indicators. Tactics are tools, not lifestyles. This is an emergent trait of time in complex systems. Science, understandings and entropy all grow in nuance and complexity over time. Generalizations can only hold so long. Like a reptile must molt to grow, so too must the strategic thinker molt their past understandings in order to progress.

Keep the value coming Chris. I would love to see podcasting 2.0 replace the paid advertising model. There’s nothing worse than listening to “Bitcoin” podcasters shill treasury companies, custodial services and even telling you not to bother with holding your own keys. (Insert vomit emoji here). Been listening a long time, definitely one of the best Bitcoin podcasts out there! Tried boosting several times, but fountain posted error messages every time. To answer this weeks question about hardware wallets, I recommend passport by foundation. It’s open source, airgapped, has optional view only app for iPhone or android, has a customer replaceable battery should you ever need it, extremely easy to use, and owned by another trusted freedom tech podcaster from the Ungovernable Misfits team. Love them and this wallet. I haven’t used it, but another member of the UM team also developed cake wallet that I’ve heard great things about!
