Bassload and I have frequently discussed the comparative energy consumption of AI versus the caloric intake of the human brain. The energy extracted from the Earth and converted for use would need to be significantly higher for AI to even approach the productivity/creativity levels of the human brain. AI's energy consumption would far exceed that required by humans, yet it would still not nearly match the brain's efficiency or output. The energy consumed by the soul is not of this earth and cannot be measured by earthly metrics.

Now we have a lovely, cozy coffee shop in the town square to meet at 6AM and plan our days together, catch up on the town’s happenings, and bond with one another. When I lost my old dog in 2013 I had just heard the song "Waiting for the End" by Linkin Park at a karaoke bar. Song came out in 2010 and I've always loved that band. Never heard of that song until that night and less than a week later the best dog in the world died. I still cry every time I hear the song.
