One of my favorite conversations was with a lady who has known Mike for 20 something years and talks about how this type of event is just a normal Saturday for their friends and family. Not only is the PMM and Meshtadel my type of people but these Michiganders are my type of people too! - my kids will be talking about this their entire lives and are already so excited to go next year! I will do my best to arrive earlier than 1 o’clock in the morning next time!

I certainly feel like a LARP most of the time. But generally speaking aren’t we all LARPing as a living creature in preparation for eternity? I do really appreciate the comment about raising girls who won't need me one day. It's my biggest goal but my greatest fear. The thought of failure or success are both terrifying. Trying to enjoy time with my children while they are kids while also ALWAYS considering their future as an adult is a juxtaposition that I don’t think most humans fully understand. Cultivate that passion within them, protect that innocence, but also ensure they fully understand the world is ready to terminate all their hopes and dreams at any moment...

Max’s American voice is hilarious. I guess we’re all gay over here... 🤣 Nice articles and readings by SoulEx, Charles, (and Jon) - I need to read Charles' article and send it to my wife. She's a social worker at the local government school but about to go into private practice. Before that she worked for the state and has placed many kids in foster care. So many times her opinion is ignored and the state gets what they want. The foster parents are pretty good in our area though. But there are MANY who sign up across the county only with the goal to abuse kids. It's incredibly hard to figure out which ones are the bad ones unless the kids come forward to a therapist or social worker. But my wife's time is spent dealing with bureaucratic BS rather than being able to actually help the kids.

I have done 2 spit takes with my coffee this morn and only 30min in. And the dogs are licking up the coffee and mucus. It's a beautiful day. Max you are such a a bully. In a very English sorta way. I never read the books (surprisingly) but collected the cards, played the games, and fairly recently caught up on all the old shows like Clone Wars, Rebels, Resistance and Bad Batch. Generally enjoy them all but Clone Wars likely the most. I'm a huge fan of Andor and Rogue One. I'll have to check out Picard Season 3 because I tried season 1 and can't remember if I even finished it. Never ever considered watching season 2...

When I lost my old dog in 2013 I had just heard the song "Waiting for the End" by Linkin Park at a karaoke bar. Song came out in 2010 and I've always loved that band. Never heard of that song until that night and less than a week later the best dog in the world died. I still cry every time I hear the song.
