The argument that we won’t see it coming is self-defeating. So, as it turns out a min of 1 sat/vB node policy was working fine in core, but some devs are trying to tell us that mempool policy to limit shitcoins on bitcoin (runes, OP_RETURN data) doesnt work? Make it make sense.

Demanding 600 Bitcoin after you stole all of someone’s money is utterly insane

Bro WTF? Everything about their theft is uncommon compared to white hat. You can’t steal and then extort, that isn’t how white hat works. There’s an inherent power balance where you’re “negotiating” with your victim of whom you stole their money. If I break into your house and steal all your shit, will you feel all good if I offer to give most back?

If it doesn’t have in app unilateral exit, it’s custodial, period. This is not negotiable. If something is not implemented then it simply doesn’t exist for the average user. 99.99999% of Spark users don’t even know a CLI app exists let alone how to use it. Without local caching and unilateral exit actually implemented in the app and having hard dependency on operator cooperation to exit then it’s custodial. Listen I actually like Spark and think it makes reasonable tradeoffs in a world without covenants, but as it stands it’s a custodial product. Happy to revise this once we see an actual implementation of unilateral exit and more operators and LSPs, but it’s just the honest reality today.
