100 After hours of digging into this, I think the crux is (and please ppl join in):
1)opposition is worried of statements like “btc is whatever ppl want it to be, so if tomorrow the block space will be full of jpeg and monetary transaction are pushed out, then let it be that, a database for storing jpeg”. This is what I hear at least
2)what btc is is decided by the people, why are ppl that don’t agree with this change and don’t want to store JPEG on the their node potrayed as censorship, and not as expressing their vote for what they want btc to be?
3)also very worrying that core potrayed opposition as irrational and minimal. There are too many ppl, too many, opposing this, so portraying them as non-existent and irrational is not reassuring
I don’t know where I stand anymore, but I’m worried the way the debate itself is being handled
