Right now it’s similar to Fountain: if you have an npub, your posts can go out to nostr relays and be broadcast as notes but not everyone does and their posts live entirely on the site. I believe further integration is on the devs roadmap.

Even more than the norm on nostr, I was struck by how much calmer the conversations are on Stacker News than is typical on social media.

They’re both social scientists who were interested in understanding these different types of groups that form societies. Each of them independently found there to be three main groups that breakdown roughly along the lines you laid out. Although, something weird may have happened to the left because conformity with authority isn’t usually part of it. You would most likely be in the smaller of the three groups that approximately maps to libertarians.

There’s a really interesting tension between two of the things you mentioned wrt the ColdCard situation. 1. The chain is public and people are tracking the stolen bitcoin. 2. Bitcoin is ideally an uncensorable bearer asset. From 1, we want the thief to be caught and the victims to be made whole. From 2, we want the thief to be able to get away with it.
