Kentucky requires you to report any gold or silver you own on 31 Dec and the value at that day. You then get to pay property tax on it.
If you sell any you pay capital gains, and if you buy any pay sales tax. (The sales tax is going away in June if the legislators don’t change the law)
So govs do think they can make you report your gold buys.

250 Found my class one job when I was 42. Was able to go full time at 45. Love being a paramedic. Would do it for free. Of course money money would be nice. (Maybe a bit less overtime as well)
I found it by looking at what I was doing as a volunteer and then took a part time job, then realized I like it better so applied for full time.
Would I do my job for no pay if money did not matter? Yes, I did for ten years!
