This is quickly becoming my favorite show 🫡 Got a few questions. Asking 1 & 2 as someone with no CLI experience and hoping for a relatively plug-and-play (GUI) option: - Can you recommend a private, high quality VPS that one could run a Bitcoin node and/or StartOS? - Could you run a Monero node (or even mine Monero) on that same VPS? - How many of the initial 1,000 passport primes are still available (if you’re able to say)? These beauties feel like an early glimpse into the cyberpunk (and cypherpunk) future. Just wait until they’re made of 3D-holographic glass. Cheers 🙏

Fucking stoked for the passport prime. Do I understand correctly that using Cake on the device to generate a Monero wallet means a properly air-gapped XMR seed and signing device? Also looking forward to offline storage of my 2FA codes and password manager. Assuming one backs up the codes, does this obsolete the need for tools like bitwarden and 2FAS? Next cup ot tea is on me. Stellar interview (no pun intended). Many 🤯 moments… “The faster you move through space, the slower you move through time, and vice versa” LOL is that why if you drive faster, you arrive earlier? (It sounds cheeky but I’m actually asking). I’m barely an hour into the show and I already know I’ll be thinking about it for days.

Orbot for iOS still sucks 🐒🥜s. Drops the connection and restarts every minute or two… Keep complaining til it’s better 🫡 Max, your critique of Nostr’s private key issues is spot-on (although I bet Q is about to explain why it’s no longer an issue). Pausing the episode now; it’s a problem, yes, and “people are working on it”, but since you point out that it’s essentially various risk of rugpull and account compromise that homd you back, I’d ask what sort of alternatives are instead worth putting in the time & energy. To me, it’s the best solution yet for a distributed digital information network (beyond simply social media use cases, btw), since basically everything else is centralized. At least on nostr, there is a “pretty good” solution (and you can use something like Alby or Nostore to securely store your nsec in a single app that can sign events on your behalf without exposing your private key. Still clunky but “we’re still early” and all that. I see it as a censorship-resistant communication layer for Bitcoin if the centralized communication providers were to someday begin censoring all things Bitcoin (or Monero). Now unpausing… ok Frostr, holy fuck. Multisig security with key rotation flexibility and authorized signing convenience… that sounds pretty damn fixed to me. Been meaning to explore frost for Bitcoin; isn’t that where it came from? Oh, and Orbot for iOS still sucks 🐒🥜s
