100 It was Britain that coaxed Russia into provoking Germany.
Certain elements of the establishment in Britain needed to destroy Germany or risk losing Britains primacy, militarily, socially and economically.
France and Russia both were seduced into attacking Germany by King Edward VII whose many grandiose visits to both countries were effectively diplomacy disguised as pageantry.
They got what they wanted in the end.
